Hi folks,
We are 1 week in to school from home, social distancing, self-isolating and all the chaos that surrounds the pandemic that is COVID-19. I have been at home this week, which has been one of the weirdest teaching experiences of my life. To document a few things, I have worked constantly on my computer, my fingers are sore from being on my phone and browsing social media platforms, other teacher websites and connecting with friends. I have been tirelessly figuring out what to do regarding my Cuba trip that has obviously been cancelled and I have been eating way to much junk. Oh, and coffee and tea. As you can recall, my Lambo is just sitting in the driveway because there is no where to go... (I don't really own a Lambo but some of you thought I did at the beginning of the year and I want to keep it that way...). All in all, life at home these past few days makes me greatly appreciate going to school every morning, seeing your faces and your exuberant personalities. Exuberant is a fancy word for outgoing. These uncertain times also makes me appreciate the people in my life and the opportunities we have on a regular basis, as simple as gathering with our loved ones. It is Spring Break this upcoming week and as much as I want to push all work aside and relax, my mind constantly thinks of what's happening next. In order to navigate life, they say keeping a journal is an effective form of communicating with yourself. Therefore, in these uncertain times I am asking you all to keep a journal. Include whatever is going through your mind. If all that is running through your brain that day is food, journal about that. It is up to you. Journaling is personal. I encourage you all to document as much as possible. See your ELA assignment for details. I, myself will try to keep you updated on a regular basis what I am up to, what I am learning about and how I am keeping busy. I may even start discussions through this page or ask questions where you are able to add comments to the page. I am still getting used to this, so please bare with me. Your teacher in quarantine, Au revoir, arrivederci, sayonara, bonsoir, до побачення, Ms. Kostiniuk
