What is Teams?
Teams is a chat-based collaboration tool that provides the ability to work together and share information all in one place with or without video. It has the ability to connect with everyone in a scheduled "meeting". At this point, you have all heard that school will be closed indefinitely. Teams is a way for us to connect.
At first, Teams will be new and need exploring. After we get used to Teams, we will begin finding ways to use Teams to benefit at-home learning.
I would like to invite you all to begin working with Teams but first we have to connect through your school email address. See instructions below under EMAIL.
IF YOU FORGOT YOUR LOGIN INFO, SEND ME AN EMAIL AND I WILL PROVIDE IT TO YOU!
*Students use the same login information for the following: Powerschool, Teams, Office 365 where they access their "Outlook" school email, and school laptops.
How to get into Teams for our classroom meeting: (Video Instructions below)
1. Open a web browser (google chrome)
2. In the address bar or in a google search, go to Office 365
3. Type in your school email (5 digit number followed by @lssd.ca) and your password.
4. When in Office Home, click on the purple square that says "Teams"
5. Click on Activity or Teams on the left side bar
6. Find "Class Meeting" and click "Join"
7. Turn off your audio and video - if everyone is on, it will cause the app to crash
8. Join the meeting

Dear Parents,
I wanted to address submitting school assignments at this point in time.
Students completing assignments will add to their overall grade. I have not set any due dates for assignments, but have been checking off who is completing what if they have sent me student work over email. If a student has not sent me their work, I may ask for it at a later date when things become clear for me and how I can navigate receiving individual emails from my many students.
At this point, I appreciate emails sent to me with completed work.
I do want to make it clear that if you have not sent me any emails with student work, at this point I am not worried. My main concern for the last while is making sure all students are prioritizing not only their health and safety, but their mental health. Moving forward, with the use of Teams, I hope to establish clear due dates for assignments and anything asked of students.
Thanks,
Ms. Kostiniuk

When you have figured out how to access Outlook and send an email, please send me an email with the following responses:
1) Let me know how you are accessing the internet. For example. I use my laptop and sometimes my iPhone. Other forms of technology you may be using could include but are not limited to an iPad, Tablet, Android or computer.
2)Let me know if you able to meet at least once a week together online?
3)If you are unable to be online, could you share the reason for that. If there is something preventing you from accessing Teams, I can potentially help solve any issues.
4) Last thing, could you include a word of inspiration in your email. As we try to figure out something completely new to our class we are going to need some words of encouragement.
